Darr Wilson, DVM

Doctor Darr Wilson grew up in Galena Park, Texas where he attended grade school and high school from 1947 – 1959. He was accepted to Texas A & M in 1959 where he achieved his undergraduate Bachelor’s of Science and post graduate Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine (DVM) for which he graduated in 1964. He served our great nation in the US Army from 1965 – 1967.

After serving in the US Army, he practiced small animal medical/surgery in Webster, Texas from 1967 – 2006. Dr. Wilson then retired to the quiet town of Boerne, Texas in 2006 and soon discovered a thought he would like to share…“Work gives a person purpose in life and my current purpose is working @ HCAL”.

Dr. Wilson has been serving Hill Country Animal League, SPCA, Inc since 2007. He is a very dedicated veterinarian who truly believes in our mission and vision and loves to share what he has learned in life.

Amy Mackrell, DVM 

Amy Mackrell, DVM was born Amelia Ann Thompson in San Antonio, Texas. Growing up in San Antonio, she attended Esparza Elementary School and Sul Ross Middle School. After graduating high school, she attended Texas A & M University where she earned her undergraduate degree in 1989. She continued her education at Texas A & M University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science at in 1993. She has since practiced small animal medicine for several years at various hospitals in the San Antonio area.

Soon after graduating, she married Regis P. Mackrell. She and her husband moved to Boerne in 1994 where they started their family. They have five wonderful children Reid, Rory, Claire, Riley and Rhett. They share four pets, Romeo the shelter rescue dog, Brisinger, the Ball Python, Nacho the Rat and Bandit the Ferret.

She joined HCAL because it was in Boerne and would be a good fit for her family schedule. She enjoys working at HCAL because she realizes what a valuable service HCAL provides to the community and she says she works with some of the nicest people she knows!

Mack Fudge, DVM

Dr. Fudge has recently joined the HCAL clinic staff and his biography will be forthcoming in the near future.
