I started volunteering at the HCAL spay/neuter clinic in the Fall of 2008 after retiring from many years in the insurance business. Although I mostly do office work, primarily writing thank you notes to donors, it is very rewarding to be a small part of helping the welfare of our animal friends. I have always been concerned with animals and my “secret ambition” when growing up was to be a veterinarian. Obviously I never realized that ambition! In addition to the spay/neuter clinic, I volunteer at the Boerne Chamber of Commerce and am a part time employee of Hill Country Mission for Health. I am “owned by” two cats, Kaylie and Whiskers. Also, my granddaughter who lives with me has two parakeets and three salamanders.
