Barktoberfest 2025: Boerne’s Favorite Fall Festival (with Fur!)
Get ready to unleash the fun! Barktoberfest 2025 is coming to Boerne Main Plaza on Saturday, October 18, and you and your pup won’t want to miss it!
Whether you are excited to see your dog rock lederhosen in this year’s Doggy Costume Contest or want to sit back and give belly rubs while enjoying good music and food, Barktoberfest has something for everyone, it’s Boerne’s go-to fall gathering for pets, people, and plenty of local flavor. It’s like Oktoberfest, but with more wagging tails, sloppy kisses, and tail-chasing joy.
What to Expect at Barktoberfest 2025
Fall Vibes, Furry Friends, and Festival Fun
Barktoberfest isn’t your typical fall festival, it’s a fun-filled day in the heart of Boerne filled with laughter, music, and paws on the plaza.
- Doggy Dash Races – Think your pup is fast? Time to put those zoomies to the test.
- Pet Costume Contest – From hot dogs to superheroes, the creativity is unmatched.
- Pet Adoptions – Meet adorable, adoptable pets looking for their forever families.
- Food Trucks & Live Music – Come hungry, leave happy.
- Kid’s Zone & Petting Zoo – Plenty of fun for the little ones who haven’t grown fur… yet.
Plus, tons of local vendors, raffle prizes, swag bags, and photo ops galore. It’s a whole vibe—and it’s for a great cause.
Why It Matters
Barktoberfest supports us, at Hill Country Animal League, in our mission to provide low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and affordable wellness care to pets across the Hill Country and San Antonio. That means every leash tug, every treat purchased, and every selfie taken helps another pet get the care they need.
In 2024:
- 20+ pets were adopted at the event
- 1,500+ attendees wagged their way through the Plaza
- Over $25,000 was raised for pet care programs
- 55,000+ people were reached through social media
Let’s make 2025 even bigger!
