Meet Becky Forrest: Executive Director of Hill Country Animal League

As the Executive Director of the Hill Country Animal League (HCAL), Becky plays a vital role in carrying out the organization’s mission, which spans both the HCAL Thrift Store and the HCAL Spay and Neuter Clinic. Her responsibilities include managing operations and collaborating with other non-profits to meet the needs of the Boerne community. One of her primary focuses is ensuring the thrift store thrives, as its success directly funds the clinic’s operations. Becky’s dedication to encouraging the community to donate and shop at the thrift store is driven by her commitment to making spay and neuter services more accessible to all.

Becky joined HCAL in January, and she’s already made significant strides. While Becky is proud of the progress made in her first year, she’s energized by the goals that still lie ahead, particularly her vision of collaborating with the Boerne business community to reach even greater milestones in 2024.

What Becky loves most about her role goes beyond the mission itself. She finds immense joy in working alongside the dedicated staff and building relationships with non-profits and rescue organizations, all while making a lasting impact on the community. “Our low-cost option appeals to EVERYONE in our community,” Becky emphasizes, highlighting HCAL’s ability to help eliminate unwanted, stray, and neglected animals from the streets.

Becky proudly reflects on the significant impact HCAL has on the Boerne community, including the 873 surgeries performed in July alone, and stresses that none of this would be possible without local support. She looks forward to many more years of service, driven by her passion for ensuring that HCAL continues to positively impact both animals and the broader community.
