If anyone has driven around Boerne the first week in May, they cannot help but notice that it is Large Item pickup time. Some of these items look to be in good condition and for whatever reason are now sitting on the curb waiting to go into the landfill. I would like to suggest an alternative for those gently used, just old items. Boerne has several nonprofit thrift stores that survive through the generous donations from the community.
We are looking for furniture without stains, tears, smells or disrepair to sell as a way to support our missions. Several of the Thrift Stores, ours included (HCAL) have a free pickup service available by appointment. You would be doing a service to the community by supporting organizations that give back, as well as, keeping an influx of good items out of our landfills.
